The Questions Asked:
Has your interaction with fans, for example, at conventions, affected your work?
Oh yes! When I do writer workshops on creative blocks and teaching the tools to overcome these bits of difficulty, I am always intrigued with a writer and their spirituality. These two things often times entwine. To watch a writer overcome a stumbling block, and evolve on his or her spiritual path at the same time is very rewarding.
And… The readers, who bring their spiritual questions to me, at conventions, always give me ideas on what to include in the next story.
Is there any particular incident (a letter, a meeting, a comment that stands out?
How gracious my readers are to me. There isn’t a day, I don’t receive a private message from a fan of my work telling me how real one of the characters feel to them or asking if the story is about someone they know. Glad to say, the stories are not about those in my past that have been clients or students. The fact, remains that I am in awe they would think so. This is what every author strives for and I’m blessed to have readers message me with these little nuggets of nice.
Do you have a favourite author or book (or writer or film or series) that has influenced you or that you return to?
My favorite action heroes have all but Mr. Chan, have starred in Mr. Stallone’s ‘Expendables’. While my heroine won’t live up to that type of action status, she is inspired to try at times. Of course, her action often times is instigated by the paranormal personalities that I have visit her.
Who is the person you would most like to be trapped in a lift (elevator) with? or a spaceship?
To name the heart throbs of my youth maybe TMI. Given my maturity, I might focus more on Sam Elliott, Sylvester Stallone, and Jackie Chan for distinguished conversation of course and creative influence.
Mr. Stallone and Mr. Chan have carved out exceptional careers for themselves and any of that creative genius that can rub off onto me, I would sincerely appreciate. Mr. Elliott has an air about him which tells me he made his career while keeping his integrity in tact, and that is important to me.
Who is the person you would most DISlike to be trapped in a lift with? Or a spaceship?
My ex. While I still have memories of him being a nice, fun, party type of guy, evidently it’s rumored he is not nice with his memories of me. I steer clear of folks who do not like me or talk nice. Just a self imposed rule I have for myself.
What would you pack for space? (Is there a food, beverage, book, teddy bear, etc that you couldn’t do without?)
Coffee, Chock Full of Nuts coffee would be the first thing to get packed. A life-line to my two besties which would be more for me than them and to transverse the afternoon cosmos, we’d pack some coke cola and ice. Hmm, I guess I would have to forgo the ice and hope our mothership had an ice machine.
What is the most important thing you would like to get/achieve from your work?
To inspire fans who want to learn different aspects of spirituality, to put into practice the small lessons my heroine shares with them. The reader should not try trance without a trained medium/teacher assisting. The other lessons are safe and can be done alone as a solitary practitioner.
What is the special satisfaction of your work?
I write in first person, therefore during the course of the day I get to be the action figure I write about. The visions are perfect more often than not, the readings are accurate and my work is well received and honored with hefty gratuity. Each book contains a spiritual lesson that I have taught to my students of spirituality. There is a bit of truth in this book of fiction.
Born? (can be date/place as preferred)
In the Ohio Valley in the state of Ohio, this is sometimes referred to as the armpit of America. I’m not exactly sure what that means, but a lot of folks who travel through seem to agree.
Resides? (can be region, country as preferred)
I’ve returned to Ohio, where southern good manners are a must for those who dine with me. Just because we live in the north doesn’t mean I do not expect the door opened, the chair pulled out at a restaurant, or yes ma’am, no sir spoken as it should be.
